Following the flooding event in February Council has undertaken several works to protect houses from future events.
The works include the construction of a bund behind the houses in Doug Wilson Crescent to prevent the surface water from the farm area flowing through the properties. Also, the footpath in the alleyway between two houses has been lowered by 500mm so in the event of the stormwater pipes in Doug Wilson Crescent being overloaded, the water can flow through the lowered alleyway in the Reserve rather than through a property that was lower than the alleyway.
At the intersection of Dippie Place and Beattie road a bund has built across the entrance to Dippie Place so that the flood waters that flow along Beattie road will continue past Dippie place.
At the intersection of Ramsden and Beattie road a bund has been built across the entrance to Ramsden Place. The bund achieves the same result as that in Dippie Place.
