Kawerau District Council will install a vehicle crossing or entrance way to properties. Driveways are the responsibility of property owners.  

If you’re building a new house, you need to also install an approved vehicle crossing from your property to the road. Contact us to arrange for this to be done. All work must be undertaken by a Council-approved contractor, who must construct the crossing to the Council’s specifications.

If you have an existing crossing, you are responsible to maintain it to a safe standard. If you would like to upgrade your vehicle entrance or have repairs undertaken, call Customer Services on 07 306 9009
