Bay Hopper 135 Whakatane to Kawerau

Bayhopper Bus Service

Do you use the Bay Hopper Kawerau to Whakatāne bus service?

Or would you use it if it ran on different days ?

Your feedback is being sought by the Bay of Plenty Regional Council on two proposed bus service options for the Bay Hopper service.

Last week this proposal was tabled at the Kawerau Seniors Forum.

Now it’s your opportunity to have your say on these options.

Currently the Bay Hopper bus runs from Kawerau to Whakatāne Bay Hopper on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The two options proposed by the Bay of Plenty Regional Council who operates the Bay Hopper are:

Option 1:

Operates four days a week excluding public holidays

Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday

There was a printed form with these options on the back of the latest Council Community Update that was delivered to all homes over the weekend.

If you prefer - you can tick your preferred option on this form and drop it into the Council Offices.

Extra copies are available in the Council Offices.

Please provide your feedback by 9 December – when the next Seniors Forum meeting will be held.

Also, if you also have any feedback about the route the Bay Hopper takes in the Kawerau Township with regard to bus stops and turning areas please send that in also.

The Bayhopper bus service is provided by Baybus Ltd and supported by the BOP Regional Council. Your SuperGold Card can provide free travel for rides that start at off-peak times.
