Kawerau Museum invites you to apply for hands-on experience in behind-the-scenes Museum activities!
Kawerau Museum is proud to offer up to four youth between Year 10 – Year 13 the opportunity to learn about the basics of museum practice, including: handling and rehousing artefacts, exhibition planning, installing and presenting researched information.
Internship Dates:
- 3:30pm-4:30pm, Thursdays & Fridays from April 9th – May 8th 2020 (total of five weeks / 10 days).
*Please note, for participants to receive their certificate of completion, all 10 days must be attended.
How Do I Apply?
Applications must include applicant's name, high school and class year level, and contact details: a mobile/phone number and email address.
Applicants must explain in 300 words:
- What the intern hopes to achieve in the programme;
- How the intern hopes to contribute to the museum and the public through their participation;
- Why the programme will contribute to their future career aspirations.
Applications can be made:
- As a written/printed hard copy to library staff; or via

Applications are due by: Friday, 21 February 2020
Successful applications will be informed by Friday, 28 February 2020.
