Due to persistent rain during the summer, the water table has risen in the District causing localised flooding in some areas. The area around Hilldale Reserve in Hardie Avenue is experiencing low-level flooding causing damage to the berms and the road surface.

Due to concerns about the road surface and stability, Council has:

• Reduced Hardie Avenue to a single lane access
• Prohibited vehicles exceeding 2 (two) tons from entering the avenue

Road users are urged to take caution in the area and follow all traffic management signage.

Council is preparing a longer-term solution, which includes in the interim making a through-road via Owen Road to Julian Road, to ensure access for residents should the road deteriorate further.
